Notice anything different around here?
This blog just got a design overhaul by the amazing Vanessa from with great heart and I absolutely love it! What do you think? It has been in the works for a while, and to see it live is awesome! I am still working out all the kinks and getting all the posts organized correctly, but I am so happy with my new menu bar (and my Instagram posts on the sidebar)! I would love to know what you think!
In other news, if you haven't been living under a rock, then you know one of the absolute best holidays of the year is right around the corner! It is no secret I love the 4th of July. There is something about summer BBQs, fireworks, sultry summer nights, and cutoff shorts that makes it so much fun. When I think about the 4th, I think about time spent with family and friends at the lake as a kid. We always had some kind of festive decor and there was always good food involved.
This 4th, we are celebrating with friends at their house in Mexico! It will definitely an absurdly awesome party, and one key element is the libations. I decided to come up with a fun drink recipe that was as festive as it is delicious. Since we will be lounging by the pool all day, I decided to include Smirnoff ICE, because it is so crisp & refreshing for a hot day. The recipe is super easy, too.
- 1 bottle of Chardonnay (I used Chateau St. Michelle)
- 6 pack of Smirnoff ICE Original
- Watermelon (cut with star cookie cutter)
- Blueberries & Raspberries
- Fill base of pitcher with ice
- Add the bottle of Chardonnay
- Add 2 bottles of Smirnoff ICE Original (then add additional to taste)
- Pour in blueberries, raspberries & watermelon stars
- Stir well
- Refrigerate overnight
Smirnoff Ice celebrates the absurdly awesome.
