Every once in a while, you come across an item that just speaks to you... kind of like those goofy Pier 1 commercials. This dress did exactly that! I wasn't looking for anything covered in bows, I was on a mission for some basic items. The minute I saw this dress I knew I had to try it on. The black and white with the graphic bow print was too perfect for the holidays! I questioned whether it may be a bit "young" for me, but instead decided it is playful and bold! I wore it just the other night as my insta-evidence shows, and I got so many compliments on it! This is a dress that will remain in heavy rotation for all seasons.
Let's also talk accessories, because an amazing dress needs equally amazing accessories to really pull the look together. Red always, always compliments a black and white outfit. These red Sole Society Audra heels are equal parts cute & comfy! I wore them to church for the Christmas Eve service and I made it through the entire service without pain (think lots of standing and singing). I think by now you all know I love my SS Lisette bag... also seen here & here.
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. This year was the first year John and I were both away from our families, since we decided to stay in LA. We cooked our very first holiday meal together, which was a success! Our kitchen is so small I am shocked there were no major casualties. We shared in a lot of good wine, thoughtful presents and laughs. We also enjoyed the most beautiful weather ever. It's not where you are but who you are with that truly makes a holiday special... but 80 degrees is nice, too! We had lots of love sent to us from our families (via cards and gifts), and although we missed them, we really enjoyed our time together. Now onward to 2014!
