I am back to LA after a whirlwind weekend in Kansas City, and I can honestly say I had such a great time. KCFW was awesome... executed flawlessly from the venue, models, hair & makeup, to the collections that hit the runway. I left feeling inspired by the upcoming trends for spring 2014. (A recap post is in the works, and will be coming up later this week!)
I also left feeling really tired. Exhausted, actually. This week is only moving at a faster & faster pace, and I am truly living for this weekend when I can take a breather & relax. I have noticed lately that my calendar is chalk-full. Is busy a good thing? Sometimes yes, and sometimes no. I feel one side of me trying to reel it in, when the other side of me has a bit of FOMO (I explained this acronym to my mom this weekend: Fear of Missing Out), accompanied by the "quick to say yes" attitude. I often times find myself unable to say no. Life is a balancing act, and I know as I get older it will only get harder to pick and choose where and with whom I spend my time. As I struggle through this week, I may need to rescind a "yes" here or there to help with the balance. I am telling myself that next time, I need to be a bit more cautious of giving out my yeses so easily.
Do you struggle when it comes time to pass on events or happenings that you really want to go to? Do you struggle with packing your own calendar so full that you end the week feeling totally exhausted? How do you cope... and strike the right balance?
